Photography and Adventures

About

Carmine Bonanni is an award winning mountaneer, photographer and filmmaker specialized in documenting remote and challenging environments. My work focuses on capturing unique landscapes and untold stories from places rarely explored, often requiring self-sufficient expeditions in high-altitude and extreme conditions. Through a combination of technical expertise and creative vision, I aim to deliver powerful visual narratives that connect audiences with the raw beauty of the natural world.

The winning photo

One of my all-time favorite photos, which earned me 2nd place in Sony’s Europe contest.
We are on the summit of Rocciamelone (3538 m) at dawn, after spending the night in the highest church in Europe. The sunrise was absolutely insane, and the entire shot is perfectly balanced: the rays are broken by the mountain in front, while the subject—together with the shapes of the valley carved by the river—guides the viewer’s eye toward the sunrise.
